Oh gosh, glad you are ok. The rule in our house is all large knives sit on a plate on the counter and are washed last. I learned this from my SIL would really hurt herself by reaching into the sink like that and had a bunch of stitches one holiday. Me, I am one to burn myself when not paying attentin to cooking.
